Cane tells Jill that Phillip may be leaving town soon and that she needs to have the chance to say goodbye this time. Meanwhile, Phillip tells Chance that he has to return to Australia indefinitely but can't exactly explain why but Kay doesn't find that response acceptable. Kay demands the truth from Phillip, as a betrayed Chance and Nina listen but he just asks them to trust him, the one thing he hasn't earned from his family. Jill arrives and is heartbroken to learn that Cane was telling her the truth.

Michael tells Ryder that he is no longer going to represent him as a client just as Kevin and Lauren approach to hear him. Kevin loses his cool with Michael for abandoning Ryder. Meanwhile, Lauren confronts Ryder. Later, Ryder defends himself to Lauren but she doesn't buy a word of it and Kevin ends up throwing both Michael and Lauren out of the coffeehouse.

At the Chancellor Estate, Billy steps up to help Phillip who is being backed into a corner by Jill, Nina and Kay just as Cane arrives and admits to them that Phillip is going back to save Cane's life. Billy blows up when Cane tells them everything and Kay is forced to separate the two. Phillip regretfully tells them that he wishes he had told them all the truth years ago, rather than running away. Meanwhile, alone, Chloe encourages Chance to trust his father to come back and believe that his intentions in protecting Cane and his family are completely noble.

Lily broaches the subject with Mac about what will happen with the baby if she doesn't survive the cancer. Mac realizes what Lily is asking and starts to become overwhelmed, starting to see that Billy may have been right after all. Mac rushes out of Lily's needing time to think.

Chance is touched to hear his father admit that he was wrong for running away all those years ago. Meanwhile, Billy pushes Cane too far when he thinks he is defending his family and the two nearly come to blows. Later, Cane tells Billy that he didn't ask for any of this; sometimes people do things out of the kindness of their hearts, a concept out of Billy's reach. Chloe arrives in time to hear Cane's rant and offer's Billy comfort. Inside, Phillip and Chance have a huge moment as Chance tells Phillip he is doing the right thing and finally calls him "Dad." Phillip tells Chance how much he loves him.

While trying to decide where to go on their honeymoon, Daniel tells Amber that he isn't going to waste on moment of their life together worrying about what may or may not happen with the grand jury. Meanwhile, Michael and Lauren tell Kevin that they will never turn their backs on him, even if that is what he is doing to them for Ryder. On the patio, Ryder makes a cryptic phone call to the person who actually sent Lauren the rat.

As Phillip says his heartfelt goodbyes to Nina, Chance, Kay and Jill, Jill wonders why Billy blew up at Cane again. Outside, Chloe tells Billy that she understands and agrees with him about Cane. As she goes inside, Mac arrives and she and Billy come face to face.
